CVS® Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat

CVS® Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat is a randomly dispersed fiber mat that has equal strength in every direction.

Using either an emulsion or powder binder, chopped glass strands are bonded together in mat form. The binder uniquely bonds the mat so that it exhibits fast wetout and conforms rapidly to a highly contoured shape.

As a porous, well-bonded mat, it maintains its integrity during impregnation and is very easy to use. CVS® Fiberglass Chopped Strand Mat is known for its excellent impregnation and wetout properties. It also delivers outstanding processing and mechanical properties, and they are compatible with most resin systems, including polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, phenolic, polypropylene and polyamide.

 

 

Applications:

Suitable for hand lay-ups and open-mold applications such as auto parts, boats, chemical tanks, swimming pools, etc. Frequently used with polyester resin to quickly build thickness for parts and between layers of fabric for building molds.
